@DemandAZ by residue, do you mean stuff on the top of the capacitor?

I used this video to dissemble my monitor, I couldnt see anything wrong with the capitors, maybe a little residue on C825 but nothing as dramatic as yours. I was just thinking to just replace the entire board. Thoughts?
I believe it is the PS because there are no LEDs lit on the front and no response to the power button. thx

@shinyfuzzy Power supply inverter on this one is on the same board with the power supply, the board wit the power plug on it.

@TOGA4808 I don't remember what model that dell was, I no longer have it, but the caps were good in it.

Do you know if it is possible to replace the power supply with a pc psu? are the connections standard 12v,5v, etc to the rest of the monitor? I only see one cable coming off the power supply, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

@maymayday90 They aren't standard, some models use the same boards, but you need to match the model number on the power supply to replace it. Ebay normally has them.
