From N.Y. N.Y. to W DC = 226 Miles at Amtrak cost of $209 or $525 for single person. Car is $43.00 at IRS price of $.19/mile standard cost for medical trips.
Who will ride the train? The politicians and lawyers? And we all will pay for it.
If you hate your kids, build them the HSR.

As a former Californian, I wish CA had more reps like you so I could move back. It's hard finding a place with less corruption. My best option is a place where less is stolen from the public coffers, and that means a place with less people. I miss California.
