  • I think it's the Barron Knights song Ann and Joe.

It is the mickey take of Brotherhood of Man's Angelo.

It begins, "Long ago, outside a chipshop in Walthamstow".

  • Does anyone know if there is a modern CD with all the funny Christmas songs on the Barron Knights did? I've looked at Funny in the Head and they don't appear to be on there??

  • a special hello to the drummer, dear silver fox. had a such good time in Sydney....quite 40years ago..:-((

  • i have the funny in the head CD & its so funny!!

  • Where I come from this was called "Never Mind The Presents".

  • One of the best christmas songs compilations EVER !! Absolutely brilliant

  • The track 2Live in Trouble" is available on the Barron Knights 50th Anniversary CD. There are also two stop frame animation films on Youtube: "Mr Bronski meets Mr Evans" and "Gas Board Bill". Unfortunately Butch Baker has retired from the band but I believe he puts in an appearance now and again. But Pete Langford is still going strong with them and it's a treat to see them live.

    Yes, 50 years!

  • "Long ago, outside a chipshop in Walthamstow, was a young rocker called 'Greasy Joe ' he put on his skidlid and said 'lets go' he was keen off up the highstreet like Barry Sheen, doin his best to look very mean till he met Anne on her new machine... Running away together brumming away in leather Anne and Joe... They passed the bloody tower at a hundred miles an hour and they was so amazed the tower bridge was raised they went right off the end and landed in the thames Hand in hand.
