This will be the equivalent of putting lipstick on a pig. Their dominance has eroded, the graphics are a hot mess, the team has been decimated, and "Move Closer" has been reduced to a shred of its former self. So, how should I expect "Coverage" to improve them? Well, at least I could say I tried.

Includes teaser, open, bumpers, mini-promo for Time Warner Cable's "StartOver" technology, breaking news sting, AccuWeather and Sports opens, and closes. Sources used were from news89, NewmanNewsman, 615 Music's sampler, and Hothaus Creative's WKRC sampler [the full theme was there, but littered with voiceover and sound effects.]

  • WIVB has tightened their budgets significantly as more one-man bands are being utilized more often.

  • WGRZ went HD on 10/29/11 both in the studio and the field. Honestly, WKBW looks brutal graphically in HD with their lower thirds, opens, and segment intros compared to what Gannett did for their station here.

However, both stations did beat #1 WIVB in going HD. WIVB isn't even in SD widescreen yet. Even Time Warner Cable's YNN has been in widescreen since 2010, only about 2 months after WGRZ first went widescreen.

  • WKBW wont be the only Buffalo HD station for long. WGRZ goes HD in November. All of their promos and some reports are now being shot in HD and really puts the WKBW upgrade to shame.

  • Epic resynch

  • Not a bad resynch.

  • thanks for credit..

  • Waitaminit, THAT'S WSB's former theme!!!!

  • Funny thing, they're actually first in the market in HD. Got field cameras, too.

  • This station is just in sad shape. Irv Weinstein is what kept in going strong, it has been a steep, slippery slope downwards since his retirement.
