Well impressed what a difference they have made, now to sort out the heavy clutch.

  • Hi Johnny,

Great to see your pleasure at the new carbs!!

I myself put a brand new Amal on mine and I absolutely love mine now, like you I find it so controlable from about 25 in top all the way through the range. They are superb these Triumphs!!

Course mine being a single carb Tiger it was half the price!

    Happy riding.

    John

  • Hi John, Just watched the vids again (for the 3rd time) Great stuff. The preferred main jet for my 500 Bullet is also a 180? Odd 1 cylinder of a 650 = 375cc is the same. Needle jet is 106. You would think they would be smaller on the cylinders of a twin, but what do I know, I never did understand these carbytooter things. By the way your vids are never boring, It's good to see what others take camping, I always seem to take stuff and never use it, belt & braces sort of bloke!!! cheers Dave

  • Hi John, Possibly the little bit of popping in the exhaust might be a small air leak into the pipe. Are your exhaust stubs ok now? the threads were a bit iffy I seem to remember. Never mind though get out and enjoy the fruits of your labours. Nice to see you had your forceps out on the bench. I was shouting to SWIMBO "Those are the ones I sent to John" like a big kid. Cheers Dave

  • just been enjoing u enjouing your new carbs.i watched the one the other day of you camping in that frost, now thats enthusiasum 4 u.i now live in the south of spain so i dont have to b brave any more.if u wont 2 come down and sample our perfect mountain roads i have a small villa on the same mountain as my house u r welcome 2 use free of charge.bring a mate or treat the wife.the roads here r one of the maine reasons i moved hereand its the least i can do 4 all the help u have given me with my bik

  • Looks like new carbs for me too :). My bikes stripped for a good going over now, I will see if father christmas brings me some new Amals :).

  • hey that baby flies now, well done

  • Those Amals suck John.!!!! Mine improved that much with new ones also.Beginning to wear a bit now after 10,000 miles. No filters on mine either.Amal concentrics get a lot of bad press.Cant see why if you know how to get the best out of them and set up properly.Keep playing nicely and come down to Devon one day.take you over Dartmoor

  • Do you retorque the head after the first run?

  • John I found Castle Bolton on google maps but what road are you riding on?.

  • Thanks for taking me along through the small Northern English towns. Some great riding there. Amal Co. should be paying you for the promotion you're giving them. Many Triumph riders will be purchasing new concentrics after watching this vid! Amazing what a difference new carbs will do for the bike and the man. Thanks for taking the time to vid and post. Made for a great weekend of Youtubing. Better get off this computer and on me bike before the weather gives out! Cheers from Canada
