They were thinking "let's do something awesome w/our kids". Hope you are still flying!

A wheel landing is the ideal and preferred method of landing when there's gust or crosswinds, it is also a landing that requires more skill, hence why when teaching people how to fly tail wheel aircraft we don't start them off with the wheel landing, we start them off with a nice three pointer which is closer to what they're used to doing in the nose gear trikes. Contrail777, that was a great job, by the books, if you're ever in Jersey come fly with us at Andover Flight Academy.

Just an observation, and a question. I noticed on your "take off roll", the elevator was in a, basically, full nose down position - do you do that normally (to raise the tail fast), or was it because of the wind? I noticed a "wheel landing"; is that because of the high wind? Or, was a " one main gear plus tail wheel" landing talked about during your training phase? (to keep the plane from weather vaneing). Everyone's different. Nice landing, even in that wind. Thanks, N-6395T

nice video, i see alot of J3 at the airport close to my house, McKinney aero country
Is that you as the pilot, with your little sister flying? Or is that a CFI, who took your little sister flying? Either way, it is adorable. BTW I'm a corporate jet pilot [Citation Mustang, and King Air 90], and regularly take my friends kids flying in a rented 182T. I don't have any kids, or siblings. However, I have always wanted a little sister so badly though, and think you are so fortunate to be able to share two things I love very much. Family, and flying.. Keep the good times rolling!

@wbenne100 Thanks for the nice comment. This is actually an old video of me and my sister. I was a CFI at the time and sat in the back seat so my sister could have a better view. I fly for an airline now, but look back fondly at this kind of flying. Don't get me wrong, I love what I do now, but care free, low altitude flying in a machine with no electrical system is hard to beat.
