Ugh. I just want to shake this man's hand. His poetry always does what few others have, for me.

Wow. This is one of the only "love" poems that is so personal and genuine, but there isn't one line you can roll your eyes at. Also, everyone tends to be able to relate to love poems... this one, is very obviously just he and her. You don't relate to it directly, because you can't, even if you do have a wonderful relationship, as much as it just puts you in a place of wishing that you could. Rives' delivery always gives me a visceral reaction. I sincerely love his poetry.

This is my absolute favorite poem of all time. My favorite line is. "You're more like a sunflower, growing in the courtyard of an old folk's home. You mean things to people on a daily basis."

Agreed. I also love when he says " I wish id been your bathroom mirror the day they took of your braces". Anybody who has ever had braces knows how much you smile an look at the mirror on that day.
