Cunard Line launched a new queen this week in Southampton, England. The Prince of Wales, Prince Charles, and The Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla Parker Bowles, attended a regal ceremony to launch Cunard Line's new $500 million Queen Victoria, a 90,000 ton, 2,014 passenger ocean liner. The Duchess of Cornwall performed the official naming of the ship as part of a colorful and regal ceremony. More than 2,000 VIP guests, celebrities and dignitaries observed the ceremony (including The Avid Cruiser) in a marquee auditorium shoreside at the ship's bow, while several hundred people followed the ceremony on a large screen in a nearby park.

  • Do not worry yourself as HM The Queen is in wonderful health and consequently will probably live longer than her dear mother. After her death (and we sincerely hope that will not be for at least another 15 years) William will be ideally suited to succeed her. Sadly charles and the pox raddled camilla whore are totally unsuitable and fortunately as there is some doubt regarding the legality of their marriage they will eventually fade away or preferably be blown up by some third world terrorists

  • What happened to speaking to the behind the scenes staff by the royal couple?.

  • Sha-dup Homely9...what do you know about companies? I run a company; I know companies. I bake the muffins for cruise ships, tough guy.. lots of muffins. What I don't know about baking muffins. My muffins will be on the new Eurodam!! Exterior wise.. my muffins looks like the new QE.

  • Yea i saw on cunard website it will sail in 2010

  • No doubt. I know they own Cunard, but I can't stand Carnival itself. The Kathy Lee Gifford thing was really the first thing that soured me on them.

  • Exterior wise look at the new Eurodam..that is all probablility is the new QE.

Carnival is the world's most boring and predictable company.

  • I heard Cunard is going to build another Queen Elizabeth, but it won't be the Queen Elizabeth 3. They're calling it simply "Queen Elizabeth". Its as if they're assuming nobody remembers the QE1. :(

  • Your point can extend to the entire idea of the QV. Everything about her is an intpertation of what a bristish "ocean liner" WOULD look like, like an Epcot exhibit of some kind. On a wider plain the ship itself as an entity is entirely recycled from all the brands under Carnival. I find the "rave accolades interestingas I feel I'm the only one who can see the dining rooms, public areas and cabins are all done before. There is very little original this "British" ship can call original or her own.

  • I cant wait to cruise on her in May

  • i agree with you ,though hold reservation on the term "carnival" , i was just thinking how anal the whole thing looks ,its a metophorical flag ship pertaining to great empire "now gone" just like the monarchy, lets see dubia? build a supership.
