Albuquerque, New Mexico, September 19. 2011, Balloon Ride on World Balloon's newest American Balloon. We soar to 7200', experience a Mid Air Collision and a Crash Landing falling at 600' per minute.
We tend to call that 'mid air collision' a 'Kiss' -- perfectly normal under such controlled circumstances. Just fyi -- your 7200' was MSL, not AGL - a huge difference. You were actually flying about 1300-1400 feet above ground level. And even though a gauge may have reported 600 fpm before the landing, obviously your rate of descent had slowed tremendously before ground contact. It actually looks like you had a lovely flight with terrific views -- hope you enjoyed it as the laughter indicates!
Awful lot of laughing for a "crash" landing. Totally normal landing at that speed. As for the "mid-air collision" it's perfectly fine for balloons to touch, as you can see it obviously did no harm to either.
What happens if you have to take a shit while ur up in one of those balloons?
