Out of all his SPs this is the best. I love Dauske's musicality and technical ability and his smoothness. it's great to finally see him in such great form. I'm worried that he won't be able to keep it up but i hope i'm wrong. I think if he can get both programmes together clean and strong then no one can touch him, no even chan or plushenko, great skater though they are.

I actually liked the NHK performance better cause it had more passion & emotion to me, but I am excited that Dai got his quad back!

That said many skaters have quads, hell Dai did 2 back in 2008 4CC! But what makes him sooo special is his artistry - his ability to FEEL the music to BECOME the music & to brilliantly transmit the music to us with interpretation! Shear Genuis! For that I love him & consider him the best skater EVER!

@kaorumikeko Figure skating judging is like real life itself. Messy, tortuous and unfathomable. But then, how can anyone give a score to the soul of an artist? It's enough that some people can see the sparkle....

@tairanotomomori I don't hate you ;) I'm actually really glad to hear that a ballet fan appreciates his artistry because the ISU judges don't seem to have the ability to do that...

@skatebride9205 Yes, but, musicality, a sense of timing....these things are innate, aren't they. No amount of ballet lessons can teach that. Dancers cannot be made. They are born. In my opinion, truly musical dancers are in short supply even in ballet. Too bad he's not in ballet (okay, I'll shut up).

@tairanotomomori Dance, especially ballet, and figure skating goes hand in hand. I know a lot of figure skaters who take ballet lessons and for myself, my skating group sometimes dance ballet with our coach! :)
