im not familiar with the camera you are using but doesn't it have a line in for an ext mic? This would eliminate the need for a clapper as the Zoom H4n has a line out port for monitoring/video cameras.

Impressive design, I've had trouble putting one of these together. I highly recommend looking into the Cam Caddie Scorpion. $38 was well worth it for the great success I've had capturing very smooth shots.

nice. looks great. thanks for sharing.

This is great. I took some of the basic concepts you used here, but modified the design when I built my own, to offer more of an offset mount for the camera, to make looking into the viewfinder a bit easier.

That is a very good rig you made.

I don't understand how you connect the clips to the tripod plate for the camera to mount.
Can you explain how those bolts are holding the clips in the plate without a nut on the other side which would make the part touching the camera not flat?

where did you buy the padding from?

Hi there, love the rig. Can you give any more detail as to the double snap in pipe clips. A brand name or product name? A link to a hardware store. They seem perfect for the job, it's just I haven't come across them yet.
Thanks.
Exactly the same as Furtadoc, more detail on these elements please! Then we can start building!
