The Bull was stolen BY Queen Meabh not FROM her and she was from Connaght not Ulster where the raid took place. Cuchulainn alone defended Ulster as all other warriors were in a trance induced sleep. He fought the foe - by agreement - one by one including his best friend Ferdia whom he slayed using the magic spear The Gae Bolga. Read the sleeve notes for further details.

@tiarnan1997 - agree with your timings for maximum joy-heaven sounds. The Maeve's Court piece is so uplifting it's unbelievable. Such a great marriage of concertina and flute. That's got to be some trad tune? Anyone?

@ZedPusley I saw them at an earlier gig that tour in Ithaca. They did an in-store appearance at a local record store and they were the first rock band I ever hung out with.

Psycahdellic Irish- great stuff. Charolais refers to the Bull of Táin, which was stolen from queen Maebh by the raid into Connaght (her territory) but Charolais is a area in the north of France.

It may sound Fecking Weak But this is my first time here and I am amazed that Horslips, a band I was entranced by as a boy 35 years ago are still making Celts Dream! The Tain will always be in my top ten most influential of albums of my life.
