Mountain gorilla sometimes come out of the national parks to eat eucalyptus trees which are planted by farmers for use as firewood. The gorillas peel off the tree bark to get at the tasty pulp underneath. The gorillas of Kwitonda group in Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda are frequently seen eating eucalyptus. This bad habit irks hard-working farmers and puts the gorillas at risk for catching infectious diseases from people and domestic animals." www.gorilladoctors.org
