60163 Tornado on the Border Raider 24th June.avi

Thurday 24th June 2010 saw the running of the Border Raider hauled by 60163, Tornado, the steam section being from Crewe to Carlisle and return. Seen here passing Acton Bridge northbound, unfortunately the view blocked by maintenance unit being stopped in the loop which here is in the middle of the two running lines.

@robmasterman Thanks Bob, the guy who you see just getting out of shot was new to steam on the main line and was asking if she would be travelling very fast, you should have seen the look of surprise when he was told probably around 75mph... Needless to say after she had passed he was suitably impressed..

Thanks for sharing Ralph. I had some friends who travelled on it on Thursday. On the return leg, it was running over an hour late! But they just got their connecting train in time to ge back to Chester.
