@jihadjared Female genital mutilation was legal in the United States until 1997 when a Federal law protecting girls from the practice took effect. FGM was covered by Blue Cross & Blue Shield insurance until the late 1970's. Search for a book called "The Rape of Innocence" by Patricia Robinett for more information on the subject. There are several videos of her on YouTube as well. Unfortunately male genital mutilation, an equally barbaric practice, is still widely practiced in the United States.
