It's a damn shame that this still applies so many years after this song was written

This is not Dylan, it´s Barry McGuire! Nothing more, despite a great song!!

to the masses out there. the button will not be pushed. there is no eve of distruction. mad will not happen, rather it will stop it..
all you have to look forward to is the date when the dirt is shoveled into your grave. words will be said, then they walk away never to return.
thats its folks.
thats all there is to it.
"look at me as you walk by, as you are now, once was i.
as i am now, soon you will be, so be prfepared to follow me."
epitaph on a grave stone.

peace with with our american soldiers who were abandonded by our government and our country. They gave all and got nothing in return. I love them and thank them for what they put on the line - that means their life.

My son's Father was two yrs old when the Vietnam war ended and he still wakes up screaming, hitting himself ,banging his head on the wall and then goes to a corner in in the bedroom and curl's himself up into a foetal position and don't know what do but told him as close to he as i can until he wakes from his nightmare and we have a beautiful son in next room. Brings me to tears everyday as i cant even begin to imagine what it was like..........................

This song breaks my heart. My uncle went to VietNam when he was only 18 yrs old. He came back 2 yrs later but part of him didn't return. For the whole rest of his life he mentally stayed in VietNam. He was never able to successfully have relationships with other humans and he never was able to hold a job. Before he went he was brilliant, fun loving, and my best friend. So even the ones who came home were still casualities of war. What a tragedy and a shame. God bless all the VietNam vets.
