Vietnamese dispute McCain torture claim

Was the Republican U.S. presidential candidate John McCain tortured during his captivity in North Vietnam? The chief prison guard of the jail in which he was held claims he wasnt.

John McCain was shot down while trying to destroy power plants which most hospitals, even in the Vietnam of that era, rely on. This is the first irony, McCain's injuries required hospitalisation though his mission was to deny that hospital care to the domestic population.

For his war crimes, McCain was recognised as a "hero" and as he boasts, a "man who fought for his country" (bombing power plants 1000s of km away from the USA) - the ultimate irony.

He was tortured, but he may have been lying about how bad it was, but if you watch other documentarys on vietnam videos of US soldiers saying they were treated well, they were giving morse code when they were blinking, which could prove they were tortured harshly.

If this is true it is sad. and to some extent it may be, But, what is and aint't isn't always clear. and no one is lying.

I have heard from confused people, but never as confused as the bimbo that narrated this piece. There is no question that American prisoners were mistreated during their time in Vietnam.
