watch This film and say its not "deep"

I haven't seen Anti-Christ yet, but Lars Von Trier is not exactly what i'd call a 'deep' film maker. His films provoke reactions, yes, but they are also extremely obvious, for the most part.

i'm glad he is over the 'persecuted nice woman' phase.

try watching the idiots.

i've seen The Idiots. Saw it 10 years ago when it came out. It's pretty good. Definitely one of his more 'intellectual' films.

i don't know how anyone can slag off any of his films. they may not be great films in the generic cinematic sense but at the very least they provoke thought and response. no matter the morals, no matter the subject, no matter the brain matter behind it: good art provokes some and inspires others. this and this each and every time for me. what do you want? "dude, where's my car?".

Let's talk about the "entity": throwing dicks, pussies, satan, witches, maggots, into a pot and stirring it up. No big deal, but then people come along and say it's got opera music, and it's got very cheap-blue-filter cinematography so therefore it is coherent, transcendent, mystical, and other bullshit. Fact:  it's just another hysterical woman being patronized by a yet another father figure. Oh and let's avenge the little dead boy.
