Still not fixed. Fuel pump won't pump gas up to the carburetor.

I got a couple weak bursts of fuel but that's been it, so first thing is I'll try feeding the fuel pump from an external gas can to isolate whether it's at the engine or in the tank.

The tank has about 5 gallons in it now so if there's something wrong in there it has to be a rusted off pickup.

Stay tuned.

  • have you tried sticking the feed side of the fuel pump into a gas can that's on the ground? That would remove all uncertainty about the fuel pump and eccentric. If you still have problems then, I'd guess the cam bolt is loose and the eccentric slid off enough that it won't function.

  • @goldduster318 That's the next step. Thanks.

  • Uh oh. I suppose it would have leaked then?

I am going through and replacing all the rubber lines on my car too, Id rather spend $80 for a little line than have it all go up in flames. In fact a car like mine burned down at a Jack in the Box because of a $80 hose a few months ago.

Luckily yours should not be that expensive to replace.

  • It would be advisable to replace all of those rubber lines, at least for safety's sake.

  • Quick way to check if the fuel pump is working is run a hose off the pump intake into a gallon jug and see if it pumps the gas to the carb that will rule that part of the fuel system out

  • @OnusofStrife Ruled out the ecu, feed wire, roll over switch, tank pump. Plus last time it was running it was running really badly something it normally doesn't do.

  • My truck is having fuel issues too. First it was the relay. Then it was the wires going to the relay. Now its the fuel filter all within a week.
