Whenever I buy a new flute I ask the flute maker to play a "Journey On" song. This is a spiritual passing on of the flute from the flute maker to the player.

As part of the final preparations of sending Wingsong Flutes to their new homes, just before placing it into its bag, I play a "Journey Home" song.

It is no accident that the flute in its bag looks very much like a monk. At the very heart of each Wingsong Flute is its mission to enhance the spirit of the player.

This flute, a Wingsong Flute, Kentucky Rose, is headed to JP's home, where he will use it in a series of flute training videos. Thank you, JP!

  • Wow!! This is so beautiful Kit. I love the spiritual aspect of the flute playing. I never realized the flute maker would play a song to help the flute "journey on." And, what a journey it will be with JP!! You are both such incredible souls! I feel very honoured to know you both! Blessings of abundant peace, love and flute playing! min :-) x

  • @practicing4 Hey, ya, min! I was just thinking about you yesterday! Thanks for dropping by. I don't know if other flute makers do this or not, but it's something I've asked nearly every flute maker to do before they send me the flutes. Like so many spiritual things, I can't explain what this means to me very well. I just know I have to have this.

Can't wait to see what Mr JP comes up with, huh!!!!

  • The flute sounds beautiful! Great job, Kit. JP, will take good care of her. :-)

It's such a beautiful way to pass the flute on to the next person. Love it!

Talk to you this coming week.

    Tim

  • @chessdude67 Thanks, Tim! I know he is good to his flutes - can't wait to see how he plays this one, and I'm really excited about his upcoming training videos!!!

  • My my my...She is beautiful!!!!! I can hardly wait to get my paws on her too. Sounds naughty! ;-)

I pray I'll treat her with love and respect and with our Creator's help... she'll sing for us all.

Oh boy Oh boy Oh Boy!!! Thank-you Kit ... Thank-you so much. You are wonderful.

    Peace-n-Love always,

    JP

  • @LOVE2Flute Yeah, you are a Naughty Boy! I hope you enjoy playing her as much as I enjoyed making her for you!!

  • @tomifobia Thanks! I can't wait for JP to get his big paws on this and see how he makes it sing. I like your notion of caretaker - I wonder sometimes, though - do I care for my flutes or do they care for me???

  • Looks good, sound good, looking forward to hearing more -- from you and and the new caretaker of Kentucky Rose.
