This song takes me back to my teen years. Love it.

my grandpa used to dance me asleep with this song

@starboydc Oh Man! I was just grinning from ear to ear watching Faron and the boys here! Perhaps the "joke" is that everyone is simply getting a huge kick out of watching Faron perform with all his winks, nods, bows and animations for this song. What a showman! And he delivers the song in such a smooth honky-tonk fashion. Perhaps the greatest line is his final: "You better believe it mama!" , with a salute in the end! Just fantastic!

Yes, guitar player & band leader is the great Jimmy "Spider" Wilson, who quit the Opry house band some years ago after being treated badly - Spider and Howard Rhoton: awesome "twin guitar" men with Little Jimmy Dickens' band (inc. Buddy Emmons on steel) back in the 50's. Yeah, the band is sharing some kinda joke with Faron or else laughing cause maybe Faron's had a couple of drinks(!), although he certainly doesn't seem to show it here. Once again, great clip w/ Faron & great musicians.

guitar player, Spider Wilson?

@8h6ed i would really like to know what the inside joke was that night between faron and his band.if you watch close, they can all barely keep from bursting out into laughter...starting with his guitar player and continuing right through all of them....including faron!

Thanks for posting this great classic country music Faron was a great singer when country was real country music not this stuff we have nowdays!!
-
Pure class! I am Irish and love proper country music from the fantastic American singers of 1950s-1980s. There IS no country music now. Artists like Faron Young will never be forgotten and their likes may never be seen or heard again. THANK GOD we still have recordings of these wonderful people.

Everybody posting here is RIGHT ON! Faron - one of the greatest. And that band! Tommy Jackson & Red Hayes on fiddles; Hal Rugg on steel; the great Spider Wilson on gtr (and band leader an' smilin' ), Jerry Whitehurst on piano & Billy Linneman on bass(?). Anyway - lovin' it BIG TIME!

Faron is one of the all time greats! Great song thanks for putting it on.
