I recommend you all to read 'Fast Food Nation' by Eric Schlosser.
Quotation "For eight and a half hours, a worker called 'sticker' does nothing but stand in a river of blood, being drenched in blood, slitting the neck of a steer every ten seconds or so, severing its carotid artery. He hits that spot again and again..."
This is one of lowest salary jobs.
It is not about people.
Most people including yourselves, would be the same after two months or so being exposed to such environment.

They seriously need to pass some legislation that bans cruel treatment of farm animals. Just because we're going to eat them, doesn't mean we should allow them to suffer while they're alive. But I'm sure the meat industry would be strongly against it because it would take away from their profits, and they are a very powerful industry with a lot of influence.
