After 30 seconds of capturing with VirtualDub on my Adaptec Gamebridge 1410 TV, the sound just cuts out. It started doing this just recently, I don't know what settings I could've changed to cause it.

  • Set your audio compression to Microsoft something. I had the same problem out of nowhere after months of using it and this fixed it.

  • Wow, old video. I ended up reformatting my harddrive recently with my upgraded rig, and the problem no longer occurs. Thanks for the reply, that's probably what it was. I vaguely remember screwing with the compression settings.

  • what file type does the adaptec output the video as?

  • In VDub, it saves to a .avi. With the program it came with it outputs to a .mpeg.

  • I'm having the exact same problem right now. I think this happen after I changed my FPS to make recording easier but now I get this. Any help would be appreciated!

  • I just recently had this problem becuase I changed my fps. Random eh?

  • I replied too fast, it only fixed it for a short while. The next capture, the audio kept going out again. Guess I'll get a new HD or something.

  • You're using the huffyuv compression while you record right? Also, sometimes this happens to me, but I just raise the priority in the task manger and close any processes that may interfere.

  • virtual dub sometimes has audio problems, do you have another video editor?
