no it's not. You played a simplification. Here in australia, the highest you can go to is called licentiate. It's the 10th or 11th grade, and this piece is on there. As well as the Adieux sonata, and almost the whole opus 10 of chopin. So either you're lying, or you played a simplified version
It's extremely obvious, that chloelovescats refers to this second movement only, which presents a modest technical difficulty and would by all means be normal on a "grade 5 or 4" syllabus. Unfortunately, you haven't had the wits to see this and were too eager to attack someone. Nobody is impressed, you made an insulting and stupid comment, and you should apologize to her.
There was no eagerness in attacking, there was only annoyance and outrage. But yes, I was harsh. I will apologise. And no, I do not think it was obvious she was talking about the second movement. The Syllabuses I now allow only whole sonatas, so I assumed she was speaking in sonatas. And no, that was not a boast, the level of piano I play is a very low one by Australian Examination standards. So I excuse my rudeness, and my "stupid" comment
I would say that it does not matter if you played it but how you played it matters and I doubt that you came close to how Richter plays it. being a great musician does not mean you play a song very skilled but it does mean you play it very musically. Take for instance Jozef Hofmann, who made many mistakes while playing a song but was one of the leading pianists of the 20th Century because he played very musically and Passionately, and Richter has more musicality and passion than most have.
