@steveelf12 Berlin Philharmonic does tune to A = 442, but that's not nearly enough for it to sound much off. I think it's just the video's playback is sped up slightly from the performance itself.

Give every born composers an orchestra and an infinite amount of time, no one would ever be able to come up with this, or anything better.....

Beethoven was just from another plane of greatness

I thought I remember hearing somewhere that many conductors in Europe don't like to use 440 Hz as the standard for tuning, and that they instead prefer to classify A as 442 or something like that. I could be mistaken. When playing my keyboard along with this video, both C and C# seem to be slightly off, so maybe that could explain it. This is merely speculation. But yes, this is definitely the most energetic performance I have also ever heard of Beethoven's 5th.
