I play the Mawaru-Penguindrum ending theme.

  • SonyのVAIO使いですか?

  • @EntangleZega いいえモニタだけです

  • Oh I almost forgot, the main chords aren't G#5 F#5. I think the correct chords are C#sus4 (xx667x) Bsus4 (xx4450)

  • @3amsleep Thanks! The chords that I played are F#7sus2 (XX4654), E5 (XX2400), Bsus4 (X X 9 11 0 0) for the intro and then the first two chords are repeated later on. Hope that helps.

  • mindfuck the anime

  • @halcyonextreme Merci pour l'info =)

  • have any tab

  • @halcyonextreme Ah yeah, I was wondering why it sounded single coily, though still a little darker than a Jag or JM which I'm fairly sure was used in the original track. Coil Splits do tend to be a little "thinner" sounding which means you'll tend to dial them in a little darker too.

With Teles it depends on the pickup in the bridge. Some Tele pickups are more mid focused than others. The one in mine is like that, so my Jag is much better at this kind of sound.

  • @TakeshiAndTheKid I actually used a coil split here. I didn't really put in any effort tweaking the sound past my go-to settings for this type of thing though. It can do some things right but it does most things a bit lackluster. In the end I also think you gotta go with true single coils if you want it really bright and crisp with a good twang to it. Teles are pretty popular for that type of sound. A Jazzmaster is a pretty good fit also.

  • A coil split might not be awful for that type of sound either as it's not the "thick single coil" sound coil splits tend to have troubles with.

There's that HH Classic Player Jag which would be awesome. I got the regular SS Jag though as it's surprisingly good at Teh Metulz as is with it's hotter pickups -

  • @mymusicjeter You do yeah. I have a Jag which should be perfect, might give it a go.

  • @TakeshiAndTheKid Yeah dude, This type of guitar sound is veyr popular and it's sets the mood of all song I think I have to use single Coil Pickups to get the sound right.

  • plz tab me XD

  • I notice this sort of "Low gain but more modern sounding" kind of sound is quite popular in Japanese guitar music and has been for some time. I notice a lot of bands I listen to tending towards this sound, than the typical hard or soft rock sounds western bands use. I don't know how to describe it, but it just sounds so huge.
