In our celebration on this feast day of our patron saint, let us offer with joy our prayers and praises to God, in the same spirit of faith and witness as given to us by St. Mark the Evangelist, companion to the Apostles.

We pray for the Universal church, the inclusive body of Christ, that we may all work together for the hastening of your heavenly kingdom. Abundantly bless us, we pray, with boundless devotion and compassion, as Christs glorious resurrection leads us into loving community, today and always. With faith in your infinite love and mercy, be with us and bless us, O God.

We pray for all the nations of the world, for all those in authority, that without malice, divisions, or contentions, we may strive to encourage people, promote equality and justice, and pursue the way of peace. With faith in your infinite love and mercy, be with us and bless us, O God.

We pray for our right use of your creation, that from its bounty, we may go forth to relieve the suffering of the many, and that our hearts may be moved to the service of others, until poverty and hunger are no more. With faith in your infinite love and mercy, be with us and bless us, O God.

Strengthen us, we pray, to continue in our servanthood ministries. Bless St. Marks School and Preschool, St. Andres in Haiti, The Foothill Family Shelter; Bless us with abundant energy, enthusiasm, and compassion, and kindle in us a fervent desire to reach out to all in need. With faith in your infinite love and mercy, be with us and bless us, O God.

We pray for this community of St. Marks on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of its founding, for all its members and friends, those with us and those whom we remember, for our mission and ministry, and for our continued witness to the gospel. Bless the many gifts of your people, keeping always before us the image of the Servant Jesus. With faith in your infinite love and mercy, be with us and bless us, O God.

We rejoice in the contributions of all who have served you in this place, creating and leaving strong legacies of service, love, and devotion to the community and to you; especially all those who have served as Head of School, all those who have served as Preschool director, all those who have served on committees and vestries, all those who have served as wardens, and all those who have served as clergy. With faith in your infinite love and mercy, be with us and bless us, O God.

We pray for those who need comfort or healing, that in this season of new life, may they be blessed and made whole in body, mind and spirit. Let us now bring our personal prayers to God as we give voice to our hearts, either silently or aloud.
With faith in your infinite love and mercy, be with us and bless us, O God.

We bring before you all those who are celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, or special occasions in their lives. May our joy together show forth your love in the world. With joyful hearts, let us offer our own thanksgivings and praise to God, either silently or aloud.
With faith in your infinite love and mercy, be with us and bless us, O God.

O God who has loved us from before birth and, who loves us beyond this life; we remember before you all those who have passed into your nearer presence in the glorious hope of the resurrection, either silently or aloud.
With faith in your infinite love and mercy, be with us and bless us, O God.

It is glory enough that we should be your servants; it is grace enough that you should be our God. Remember not our offenses, we pray, but bless us with a right spirit, that in all we do, we may glorify your Holy Name. With faith in your infinite love and mercy, be with us and bless us, O God.

Almighty God, by your Holy Spirit you have made us one people: Grant that in our earthly pilgrimage we may always be supported by this fellowship of love and prayer, and know ourselves to be surrounded with the witness of your saints in heaven and on earth to your power and mercy. We ask this for the sake of Jesus Christ, in whom all our intercessions are acceptable through the Spirit, and who lives and reigns forever and ever.
Amen.

The Prayers were crafted by the Rev. Lee Harris, Celeste Stump, and Karri Backer
