How To: Remove Lyrics From A Song (Updated)

This is an updated tutorial that will show an easier way to remove lyrics from a song using Audacity, the free audio editor.

Mine halfway works... The guitar and bass are more potent, but I can still hear the lyrics in the back and it sounds blurry. If that makes sense.

@Argetvanta Have you tried the other method? Without paying a couple hundred dollars for comcerial grade audio editing software this is the only 2 ways I know to do this and there are so many variables to MP3 files this is becoming harder and harder

I tried ur old way and new way.... BOTH non of them work for me... I cant choose any effect??? Any help???

@398334 other than the footage not being hi-lighted I do now know what could cause you not to be able to select an effect

Can you just remove certain words in certain spots in a song?

@mrkylen1 Not really on certain words, this is a all or nothing process you can pick portions to remove the lyrics from.

Just so you guys know, all the effects will be greyed out until you click stop. If you played the song and paused it, then you cannot take further action so hit the Stop button then try effect.

I have issues with distortion when I cancel the two sounds. What can be done here? instead of Lyrics I get distorted sound.
