i dont know. im bothered, because they work together now. I hated merkel before I heard this. But thats for sure that westerwelle is racist, and unsympathetic, CDU and FDP just want to squeeze money out of us.

As an America working here, I'm concerned Chancellor Merkel's strong victory will further fuel anti-foreigner sentiments. During last term, there was a detectable upswing in resistance towards auslanders in Germany. Small things like waiters or clerks refusing service & so on. Guido Westerwelle is expected to be Merkel's next foreign minister. His recent rebuff of a BBC reporter asking a question in English may legitimize those sentiments, and be a clear sign of things to come.
