The budget cuts to healthcare will have a catastrophic impact in Orange County, as a whole; residents and the community clinics who serve them stand to lose millions of dollars of resources.
Based on our projections using OSPHD data, the cumulative impact of the proposed elimination of traditional clinic programs like EAPC, Healthy Families, Medical optional benefits and other proposed reductions to Medi-Cal is a lose approximately $30M dollars.
In addition:
· Orange County would experience an increase of ER visits which will cost an additional $78 billion dollars. This will cost each OC resident an additional $260 per year in taxes.
· The total loss of revenue for Orange County would be: $14.8 Million and $7.1 Million is loss of federal matching funds.
· The proposed budget cuts would add 43,200 individuals to Orange Countys uninsured population, raising the uninsured population in the county to 385,908 individuals.
