  • @Sneezlebob Mein Kampf (Chapter 8) "What we have to fight for … is the freedom and independence of the fatherland, so that our people may be enabled to fulfill the mission assigned to it by the Creator." ~ Adolf Hitler

  • Here's an idea, don't have any festivals. Use some of the money to buy your schools some new books or to fund after school programs to keep kids out of trouble. We need to quit trying to please everyone in this country and instead start educating them. The rest of the world is passing us up in science and math, but hey at least we'll have our festivals to make us feel all warm inside.

  • @evilblades The constitution states that the government is to remain neutral in matters regarding religion. That means no government interference in religious practices, no laws banning religious practices and no government sanctioned religion. Tax dollars going to a religious organization is the government sanctioning religion. The law is not there to single out any particular religious group and favor others, it is there to keep ALL religions out of government and vice versa.

  • @TheWrongFlyer yes, but denying them funding that any other organization would recive, based on the fact that they are religious.

it is basically a law saying "any assembly will get funding, except religious ones". how is that not making a law regarding religion when your law exclude religion.

im an anti-theist. but it does seem a little hypocritical to at the same time say "we wont make laws regarding religion" and at the same time make law denying them -equal- funding.

  • Evangelism? The Jesus Camp people! AHHHHHHHH

  • @skyler4856 You also have the immoral doctrine of infinite punishment for a finite crime and a whole slew of immoral commands in OT. Including when to burn young girls for having sex(Leviticus 21:9).

  • @CapricousCapricorn1 but there is something wrong with spending public dollars on it. that's the point that this video is making.

  • The young turks are alright in my book. But you guys are so anti God anti religion that I really am not into your views on stuff like this. Anything secular, you love. Anything Holy you resent it. There's nothing wrong with praising God with people who believe in the same thing gathering together.

  • "JesusFest" sounds gayer than words can do justice to.

  • @WolfsStorm : Our religious do often have a St Christopher pendant hanging from the inside mirror of their car, though, and might be offended by homosexuality, but then they won't do anything about it except voting a certain way. If they are in contact with other cultures, they won't refuse to enter a buddhist temple claiming that "thy shall not bow to any other god"... So...I'm against their religion too, but our religious are pretty ok compared to what I see about USA.

  • @WolfsStorm : here, the people just a wear a cross around their neck and generally it stays under the neckline of their shirt. They go to church on Saturday night or Sunday morning and that's it. Aside from that, they're absolutely normal. They don't deny evolution, don't shout "embrace jesus as your savior!" in public (I saw only 1 crazy woman like this in Paris' subway once...), don't have religious stickers on their car, they laugh at jokes about the pope...
