This weekly gathering, held in the Bates College Chapel and sponsored by the Multifaith Chaplaincy, is largely a wordless time in which to experience the sacred canopy of darkness, music and silence.

The theme for Dec.8, 2011: war and peace.

This brief video includes songs peformed by Amna Ilya '13 of Pakistan, and poetry read by Erica Long '12 of Maine. silence, songs, silence poetry("Misnomer" by Denise Levertov -- Multifaith Chaplain Bill Blaline-Wallace -- and "Keeping Quiet" by Pable Neruda-- Erica Long '12), and, songs (Amna Ilyas '13), "Birds, rivers, gusts of wind (Panchi, Nadiya, Pawan Ke Jhonke) andn O people of my country! (Ae Mere Watan Ke Logo).
