Possums are clean animals, they wash themselves like cats. They only live 2 to 3 years and are North America's only marsupial. Possums are 80,000 years old.
I have two sitting on my shoulders right now. Somebody shot their mama. Even grown they are sweet. My non-releasable walks about the house, is litter trained, and goes back into his cage when he gets tired I just love them.
