This is the 1st spin-up of the Warp 9 motor and I energize the electric clutch, that will be used for regeneration during braking.

I am holding my breath and keeping my fingers crossed...........
COOL!!
There are no unusual noises or vibrations.

The next test is to see if my rewiring of a HD alternator will make any voltage for regeneration.

  • Why do you need a clutch on an electric vehicle ?

  • The idea behind the electric clutch, on the aux shaft on the end of the motor, will allow me to experiment with several different regeneration devices and will be efficient in that the electric clutch will only rotate to drive an alternator when needed for regeneration of power during braking and, because the S10 EV has no clutch connecting motor to transmission, the alternator will also be used to slow the motor down when shifting the transmission.

  • Regen sounds great on paper. Its only good to help you slow the car down with less brake effort.

  • Sounds like something from the movie "The Burbs". Haha.
