Good comments.
First of all, the Urantia Book is a spiritual book. Not a book of science nor a book of organized religion. But it says that the scientific method of experimenting and repeatability is important to discover some aspects of reality and to keep religion honest. But it says that the science it writes about to demonstrate this is from the time of writing, and will become obsolete. Because they don't want to give us unearned knowledge which may harm us. Read the whole book.

I can relate to your concern. When I discovered The Urantia Book I actually put it down for six years. When I finally picked it up again I wanted to disprove it. Instead I found that the more I read it and reconciled it with human knowledge - whether it was history, science, religious beliefs, etc, my love for God deepened and the quality of my relationship with others became much more genuine and compassionate. My journey of exploration is recorded in my book Heaven Is Not the Last Stop.

Urantia book is satanic.
People please stick with the BIBLE!
Galatians 1:8
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than that which we have preached to you, let him be accursed.
You are accursed.

I used to have hardback copy. It was a great find. hopefully its in the hands of another who will read it.
This guy has been telling me to not read this book. He says its from false prophets. Should I read it or not. How should I know this book is telling me the truth, just like the Bible tells the truth? Respond please.

The only way you can really know if something is true or not is by trying it out. See if it brings out the "fruits of the spirit" from your soul, in other words, if it makes you a good, loving person, go with it. But remember, the Urantia Book is very complicated and requires many years of study to understand it fully. It is about having a personal religion of experience rather than by just believing in the written word. You have to want a personal experience with God.

Did Carl Sagan read the UB?
jlomas904 1 year ago
I don't know, but Sagan was a scientist. The Urantia Book integrates and harmonizes science, philosophy and religion. There are not many people who have the background to understand the book. As you can tell by much of the contents of the posts here, most people don't even bother to read the entire book before commenting. Some of them can't even write English very well or make any sense. The UB is not for this generation but for those in the future who will be better equipped to comprehend it.

that sounds like pure and utter BS. this book was written indeed for misguided caucasians in this TIME,looking for what nietzche and darwin amongst others took from them. glossing as if those of us who question and feel it falls short of its claims are fools is does not change the facts. that said the writers were obviously well read. and probably genius level at compiling. but that is all. its a fine scifi novel.

Another comment by someone who has obviously never read the entire book or studied it in depth. There really cannot be any intelligent discussion if you have not read the whole book and know the contents. A simple browsing of the book cannot discover what it really holds. If you want to discuss pertinent points, instead of just dissing the book, read it in its entirety and bring it on!
