On Feburary 5th 2011, Brian Jacques had passed away. The world of Redwall fans and the world of fans from his other brilliant works had been shaken at the loss of one of the greatest authors whomever lived. Redwall changed my life in many ways and saved it in others. I don't know where I'd be if it weren't for Redwall. I had oneday hoped to meet Mr. Jacques but I will never get to see the great man. I will only know him from his books, music and interviews. Rest In Peace. The writing world...will never be the same.

This is a tribute to the great man who gave the world so much with his novels. I have set it to all three seasons of Redwall and even included the titlecards at the end as well as a picture of the great man himself. The song I had chosen because it really fit my life and what Redwall meant to me. 'You were always there to hold my hand, when times were hard to understand, but now the tides of time have turned...they keep changing' is one of the greatest lines in music and one of the most meaningful to me now. When I was younger I...really didn't feel like life was a good thing but when I started to read the Redwall series, I would always say to myself "Life...is not a good thing to me. It has been hard but at the end of the day I know that there's going to be a world I can travel to where I can lose myself in adventure and sadness." But with the final book being put out in May...I feel like I am losing that world and I don't know what things will be like afterwards. I also used the OLD logo in this because its much sadder than the new one. And well. That's what you've got for this time around =(

I know there are a great number of fans who will feel the same, but I do know this. That Redwall will stand the test of time. That his wonderful world of mice, squirrels, otters, rats, weasels stoats and the like will take its place in history and remain one of the greatest novel series of all time...until the end of time itself.

  • P.S, what's the name of this song?

  • @Heathertrelawney Tides of Time by Epica. One of my all time favourite songs.

  • *sniff, sniff, chokes* This is so sad and so beautiful... *bursts out crying*

This is the most beautiful tribute I've ever seen, wonderful job.

  • @Heathertrelawney Thank you =) It was hard to make...I kept crying the whole way through making it :P

  • Thanks for the new video, I'm trying to make my own Brian Jacques tributes too but of course, lack of space prevents me from doing it.

I had a similar experience in redwall growing up, I only saw the trailer on Teletoon with the shrews ringing the bell from episode 13 and it wasn't until grade 7 that I started getting into it. Redwall would be an awesome place to go to.

  • @Thomasmemoryscentral Yeah :/

  • This video is so gorgeous, and meaningful to me. Thanks to the TV series, I've been a fan of Redwall since I was 4. Brian, it shames me to say this, but... It was your time. God called you home; and I guess heaven needed more authors. R.IP., Brian! You'll always be my hero and my mentor even though we never met. XOXOXOXOXOXOXXOXOXOXOXOXO

  • I actually got to meet him when he came to the Barnes and Nobles where I lived and he signed the two High Rhulain books that I got and I waited in line for about 3 hours and I actually finished the book. When I finally got to him I told him that I had finished the book he told me "Well you must have really enjoyed them then" I told him that he was an awesome and good writer and that all of his books were my favorite ones to read!
