A wonderful singer, intelligent, sensitive and aware of Germany's past, present and future, Ute Lemper is a real artist in age of synthetic, manufactured music, we should treasure her

God I love her work.
I noticed how she appeals outside of the German speaking world, there are Yanks, Fins,Mexicans,Norwegians and Brits all here signing her praises.

That's true. She's one of the few artists operating today possessing a real performance personality and instant recognisability - great assets in a scene dominated by facile saleability.
