  • TO EVERYONE:

    WHAT DO YOU THINK?

How do you define "fulfillment"? What does it mean to you? What do you think (for those of you who do) it should mean to others?

  • Hmmm. I couldn't list a figure or anything, but I'd say that again, gender insecurity isn't limited to gays or even harder for them. If anything, I'd say that gay people are allowed more gender fluidity, especially gay women.

Straight men probably have it the worst of any group, because the idea of what it means to be "real man" is so rigid. And straight women have a lot of issues with body image that could be said to be tied to gender identity and value.

  • 'I think a lot of people, gay, straight, and bisexual, try to find personal fulfillment in romantic relationships.'-

THAT IS A GOOD STATEMENT. You've sparked me think of a good question to post, which possibly may lead to a debate on this very video!

  • 'I've been in love once in my life. And it certainly wasn't because I was trying to "steal" something from him.'- hehehe, good one

'Is that so hard to understand? HE -- MADE -- ME -- HAPPY!!! And if you try to tell me it's different for straights, I call bullshit.'-

That shit is so funny I can't stop laughing!

  • 'Gays DON'T have a monopoly on insecurity.'-

True! But there are many gay men, lesbian women, and bisexual women who do have deep insecurities relating to their level of femininity (women) and masculinity (men). Let's be honest here!- At least eight out of every ten L.G.B.s personally know at least one other L.G.B. that is highly insecure of his masculinity/her femininity.

'And believe it or not, some of us gays have relationships just because...we're in love!-

    VERY TRUE AND WELL SAID

  • Revhor., you are so courageous to publicly say exactly how you feel, think, and believe. Kudos to you.

Many persons may not understand you, but at least you understand that which you want for REVHOR! : )D

  • I think a lot of people, gay, straight, and bisexual, try to find personal fulfillment in romantic relationships. I think it's one of the great traps people can fall into in their adult lives.

I'm don't think it's simply a choice between Jesus or co-dependency, though. I think the key is becoming a secure, stable, confident person, however one accomplishes that. Religion, like anything else, may help some people in that area, or it might simply become another crutch to rely on.

  • I've been in love once in my life. And it certainly wasn't because I was trying to "steal" something from him. Neither of us were terribly masculine. And as for why I was in love with him? I was happy whenever I was around him! Is that so hard to understand? HE -- MADE -- ME -- HAPPY!!! And if you try to tell me it's different for straights, I call bullshit.

  • Kevin, your personal journey is your choice, but do you realize how insulting it is to gays when you make such generalizations about their experience, and the reasons for their sexuality? Gays don't have a monopoly on insecurity. Plenty of relationships, both gay and straight, are motivated by insecurities. And believe it or not, some of us gays have relationships just because... we're in love!

  • Bro, for a person so physically tired (I've been doing that too and had to take 4 day weekend) you are amazingly cogent, clear and demonstrate a profound level of insight. I'm praying for you everyday.

    Hang in there!

    Rik
