How to Create a Virtual Drive (Emulate a CD-ROM and more!)

Reasons for creating a virtual drive:
Make the computer think that there is a CD-ROM or CD or DVD in the computer, so that you can play a game w/o the disk.
Organize your data into seperate drives to make your computer run faster.
If you want to try a program out, install it into a virtual drive so that it won't interfere with the rest of your computer!

Would a CD-R work?

@toontownantis1 I'm no expert on this stuff, but I think a CD-R is just for holding files like music, docs, stuff like that (except it's not writeable - that's a CD-RW). So you wouldn't really need to emulate a CD-R, you would just copy it's contents onto a folder on your computer.

I installed two different softwares using this method (two dictionaries). They used to work but recently i'm prompted to introduce the cd-rom. Any clue about this problem?

@proletinkult It might be a problem with those dictionary programs...they might be detecting a virtual drive and want you to use the CD instead.

Just install virtual clonedrive (free, google it), and then open your ISOs with that. It works great.
