Uh. It's not like animals are some robots with on/off sexual lives even though their sexual activities tend to center around the times when they are capable of reproducing. You can't tell what an animal has in their mind and whether their experiences are sexual or not. I think you're projecting yourself onto these animals here, needlessly so.

And, don't get me wrong, I'm asexual myself. I just dislike needless anthropomorphism.

@OneDragonmaster actually i disagree with You, although i can share one maybe two of Your points, first i agree that i am projecting myself, second i am an animal too:) I get the impression that You havent written what You are convinced about. This isnt needless anthropomorfism, as term anthropomorfism is related to mythology, using your semantics i would say that we are all 'animalform' as we are animals. Showing this aspect of our nature is more helpfull than needless for self understanding:)

@fonfeluch Mythology? Bitch please. Anthropomorphism means giving human features and traits to non-human animals, there's nothing mythical about that. You're obviously judging the behaviour of these animals with human-centric views on what's this thing called "love" and you have decided that in these animals' case it's somehow asexual -- you're projecting your own wants and needs onto these animals and you seek to experience things through them and this imagery. I consider that pathetic.
