I was in Bloomingdale at the time and I swear I have never seen a thunderstorm of it's equal in my 36 years living in Illinois.

@AlexplusChris wow, lucky me, I live in the UK, with the least tornadoes in Europe, but in places like Germany, they are more possiblie but still rare. Also, the best of luck to everyone in the U.S who are suffering from tornadoes

I was in Arlington Heights and the sirens didn't go off. I was scared shitless when it hit though. I grabbed my dogs and ran into the basement. Then I heard rumbling and the sirens went off, so I got under a desk with them.

I remember that day it was really nasty my power whent out from the first storm and when the next one came by I didnt know untill I herd thunder and herd the sirens go off. I live in tinley park.
That was awesome how you can see all the power go out in the houses after that power transformer was hit by lightning. My grandfather's house is near Archer and Central, is that nearby to you?
