  • Considering I thought the same thing whilst actually being part Japanese, I wont hold it against you, but an episode of South Park changed my mind on just how ignorant it was of me to judge the Japanese for killing whales when western cultures and Americans specifically, are pretty cruel in their means of mass production of beef and chicken. Not to sound like a member of PETA , but we cant point fingers at the Japanese when we raise millions of animals in horrible conditions for fast food.

  • Japs are amazing.. saldy they kill whales.

  • That's quite true - what I'm getting at is that purely from a sustainability point of view, killing cows is less of a problem than killing whales, because there are a lot more of them.

Ethically speaking, it's just as wrong to farm/eat either species, but as a meat eater my point of view is that if you're going to eat an animal, you should be able to do it without sending that species extinct. Anyway, this is the wrong video for this discussion and I don't want to upset anyone.

  • @BarryDennen12 I think then we should look at whether or not people would think it cruel to raise and farm dolphins and whales for food like people do for cows, chickens, ducks, turkeys, fish, lamb, etc...

I think people have a problem killing whales and dolphins because of their intelligence, not so much because some are endangered but I wouldnt want to speak for everyone.

Also, if more people saw the treatment of the cows and chickens we get food from, they might rethink what they eat.

  • I actually don't have an issue with Japanese killing whales and eating them. I'm a meat eater, so that would make me a hypocrite.

The thing is, cows that are killed for beef? They're not endangered. Ocean food sources are way way waaaay more finite than people realise. If anyone (Japanese, Westerners, whatever) want to eat from the sea, we're going to have to start farming these animals and make it a sustainable resource.

  • Scared enough of mannikens as it is, don't need them moving.

  • Model planes 101..

  • it is certainly not the future firefighters

  • yeah, i was going to say, eco robot
