  • @whiteykauai @pineconeology actually when i used powepro line i cant cast the lure as far but when i took the powerpro line out and just put the regular clear line it cast way smoother and farther also powerpro line floats on the water as you cast it out and it statles the fish.

  • @surferboy347808 what weight lures are you using? Mono is thicker than braid, pound test to pound test. Braid of the same pound rating goes way farther than mono. I have not had a problem with braid floating because it is in the air. This is the result of ripping the lure across the surface. The prescribed way to use of my lures.

  • @whiteykauai im using the 1/4 oz. lure and yes mono is thicker than braid and its strong. but which one do u prefer mono or braid?

  • @surferboy347808 for 1/4 and 1/8th oz.ers I like mono. I use braid for everything else.

  • @whiteykauai Also would you recommend Powerpro for shore fishing by rocks or reef and shallows and/or out of a kayak?

  • @whiteykauai Yea maybe i just want to get away from the tourists and the jagged reefs. It would seem kind of rough by the cliffs, but I've never been around there. Do you have any recommendations for lures? I am going after Moana and Weke and also Papio.

  • @Pineconeology bummer, Hawaii Kai seems quite nice. I've seen lots of Oio ans Papio come up in that area. Not sure about the cliffs. Seems like it would be fun in a kayak at higher tide?

  • @whiteykauai Damn lost another oama to the reef today. What is you're opinion if any, of Hawaii Kai Area or the Cliffs by there?

  • @Pineconeology Yes, on some of my reels. I test braids for thinness , castability, wind knots and strength. My favorites or Varivas and Tuff line. Powerpro is very good. All of my braided rigs have a section of Mono leader tied witha bimini to double the lin, then a Uni-Uni to koin braid to leader. Then I use a macmahon swivel from Cabelas. Main reason for braid is increased casting distance.

  • @whiteykauai DO you use PowerPro? If so, what for?
