New Haven (WTNH) - Two teenagers killed when their car was struck by a police cruiser in Orange had blood alcohol levels over the legal limit, the New Haven Register reported Thursday.

The Register quotes anonymous sources saying the two teenagers were ilegally drunk at the time of the crash.

Lawyers for those teens are quick to point out this does not let Officer Jason Anderson off the hook. He was travelling 94 miles an hour on Route 1 in Orange last June.

The two 19-year-olds, David Servin and Ashlie Krakowski, were in a car that turned left in front of the cruiser. The impact was caught on the dashboard camera of another speeding police car.

The Register quotes sources saying the teens both had blood alcohol levels around 0.13. That's about one and a-half times the legal limit of 0.08. However, because Servin and Krakowski were underage, the legal driving limit for them was only 0.02.

UPDATE: Cop was going 94 mph before collision

The crash happened back in June on the Boston Post Road in Orange,CT just after 2am.

Officer. Jason Anderson had just left a call in West Haven when he smashed into a Mazda that was making a left hand turn. The crash killed David Servin and Ashlie Krakowski, both 19-years old.

Officer Anderson has been charged with two counts of manslaughter and reckless driving.

The video released today was from the camera mounted in another police cruiser that witnessed the crash. It shows Officer. Anderson speeding by without his lights on prior to the crash.

  • According to various articles on the web (take them for what they're worth), the two police officers were returning from a call, not responding to one, and were driving 65 and 94 respectively in a 45mph zone, with no emergency lights flashing. No indication of a race but all parties agree the high speeds were not called for by any means.

  • fuck the police!!!

  • @WastedTone Again I will tell you that you are wrong. They were not racing now get your head out of your rectum and research this and you will see that everything I have told you is correct and you are wrong. Don’t get me wrong this cop is wrong for his actions but they were not racing

  • @WastedTone Were you there?

  • @CTMotorcop They were racing. I remember the case from when it happened.

  • @WastedTone Well I guess it is a good thing that you live in Ca. because the two officers were not racing. You might have speculated that is what they were doing but you would be wrong. After a very long and lengthy investigation conducted by the Connecticut State Police, the offending officer was charged with 2 cts of Manslaughter and 1 ct of Reckless Driving. They also concluded and showed that while the second officer was exceeding the posted limit they were not racing.

  • @primate4 Really? I guess you don't know what you're talking about. I live in California and even I know what happened. The "Police Officers" were racing each other in a 40 mile per hour speed zone.

  • @primate4 HOW IS THAT?

  • I hope the officer is okay. He is the real victim!

  • @ArT2Oo0 The crazy part about this is that the cop was returning from a call. They were heading back to their town and he was just showing off to the rookie cop car that he passed..

I really don't care to see the death of anyone, especially kids, maybe now some parents will also start to pay more attention to what their kids are doing, and look at their social lives
