Over the last two year, i have been really sad, and depressed, got no-0ne to talk to, the only time i get some comfort is wen i listen to mahalia, thanks for this

@dsmall1000 - Actually, Mahalia was quite wealthy and was earning $10,000.00 for concert appearances according to her biography "Just Mahalia Baby", a hugh amount of money for a gospel singer. She owned property in Chicago and Los Angeles where she held residences and was a bona fide millionaire according to a 1972 Jet magazine.

I praise God for giving us this beautiful and gloriously gifted woman. The Spirit was so strong on her it comes right thru her recordings to this day. She preached when she sang and God used her mightily.

Mahalia Jackson truly was the world's Greatest Gospel Singer because she sang with conviction and Anointing. She definitely was not in for the money because she did not get pay much. I am sorry that I was not alive in her era.
