His spouse had been cheating on him for over a year, letting him carry on and think everything was okay. It's not so much the act of cheating that hurts, as the deception. That's a thousand times worse.

Gotta be the honest, the actors kind of ruined this. Works much better on stage without the dips in energy; it needs that constant build to "He tastes like you but sweeter". They took much too long to get there, and slowed down the scene.

Regardless of how these two did it, it is a phenomenal scene, and a phenomenal play. Kudos to them for giving it a shot.
