Matthieu de Quillacq flew his lightweight Kompress CH-7 kit helicopter from southern France to Oshkosh, and he hopes to continue right around the world. AVweb's Glenn Pew caught up with him at AirVenture to find out more.

  • This guy is what experimental aviation is all about.... We need to have another interview with him with better graphics, mapping, route etc. Did he say he had to go around the southern tip of greenland after adverse weather prevented a more direct route ? Why have we not heard more of this guy. Was he going around the world on this trip or another time ?

  • OMG !

I'm also French, I hope my accent is not that strong !

(In live in US for now 11 years)

  • Hello; I would like to know what route did you take? I am interested in doing something similar with an Augusta or a bell 222. Please let me know or contact me at rotorflyer@live.com... Kameron and much respect...

  • I would go too in a trip like that....only if I had the money & a chopper

  • Thank you Matthieu, you are a real life super-hero, such an inspiration for all pilots! If you ever come to Indonesia and need any help please contact.

  • What a great guy and character!

My best wishes for you, and blue skies!

    Thank you for sharing.

  • I have a question now ; how did he go to all those airports didn't he have to pay for each landing and stay at a hotel and what about visas? Just wondering :) great video and this video is awesome!

  • It is incredibly impressive and a testimony to Cicare's design. Most sport helicopters spend their lives 4 feet off the ground due to a lack of builder confidence. This guy certainly had some stones to attempt such a feat, but he chose one of the only sport helicopter designs that could do it without frequent landings for maintenance.

  • volo eccezionale

    complimenti e tanta invidia
