Indian did contribute to the world but today whatever they did was overshadowed by western inventions and philosophies and rightly so ,the renaissance was the best thing that happened to Europe and also the world,we Indians had a prosperous past but the values such as equality, freedom of speech, democracy are all the gifts from the west without those our prosperity would be meaningless

Indus Valley Civilization had modern plumbing, excellent infrastructure, temples. Even cotton was cultivated for cloth there.Thisdid not occur in desert west of India!! English & most of the languages in the branch (Indo European) are very new. English came about in 1700's! Yet Sanskrit & Hindi are thousands of years old. Even Greek first literatures came about in 700 BC. Hinduism, it's literatures, the Gita & so on were in existence since 3000BC. Westerners rewrote the dates to say 1500 BC but it is much more ancient since HInduism existed at time of Indus Valley Civilization 3000 BC.
