This lesson shows how three planes can exist in Three-Space and how to find their intersections. This is the second part of a three part lesson. This lesson was created for the Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U) course in the province of Ontario, Canada.

  • Question: Wouldn't it be easier to do reduced row echelon form? Is there a difference between the two ways?

  • @MicNarcolepsy Matrix algebra and using row reduction was removed from our provincial curriculum a few years ago. I think it is a fairly efficient method (but lots of room for arithmetic errors). However, it is just another way to solve a system of equations and works just as good as elimination.

  • @AlRichards314 My teacher told us a while ago that the MCV course was comprised of multiple math courses all put into one. I guess that's why they didn't include it; there just wasn't enough room. Anyways, thanks for responding!
