@pedrosbikeiscool Yes he did turn, but the hit was also to the head, so he would've gotten a suspension anyway

it was a good hit the kids helmet fell off which is unfortinate liambis should not be suspended. if there was no injury it would of been fine hes only suspended because how bad the inury sounds on papers
-
your right but it is also stated in the rule book that if u take more then 3 strides its considered a charge and he started skating from the redline do the math ppl it was dirty but fanelli turned and thats bad!! kids no turning your backs or else bad ass injurys happen luike this one!
-
it was charging folks, plain and simple. Liambus is coming in at 30 kmh and targets the head, not the torso. Anyone who states otherwise has never played the game. You don't have to be taking "strides" to rule it a charge. Its distance travelled and speed of opponent when you get hit; refs judgement. Get up to top speed, coast for the last 50 feet and slam a guy into the boards? Thats charging. Intent to injure. Hitting is meant to separate an opponent from the puck/ play. This hit is obvious.

Yea finally someone knows what the hell they're talking about, its impossible to stop when someone turns at pretty much the same time you hit them. But this is what I see in lots of the leagues from minor hockey to OHL, WHL, defense and forwards turn like pussys, they don't know how to take hits and they think the checker will back off when they turn cause you're not supposed to hit from behind...

how about keep your head up, dont whine, and quick if you're afraid to get hurt...sound reasonable?

What's the point of commenting on the video if you don't have anything useful to say. Anyways I'm done with you, you're useless, byeeee

The irony wasn't an accident......
If Fanelli hadn't turned Liambus would have likely been given a charging or something like that.
but
The fact of the matter is he did turn. Yes I feel for the player who was hurt but he started turning past the point of no return. What is Liambus suppose to do when he is less than a foot away from the guy and he starts turning?
As for the suspension its overboard. Probably just dealing with past incidents and its more of a PR thing for the league in general.
Kids, Never turn on a hit.

Rule 43.1 of the OHL rule book - "Charging shall mean the actions of a player or goalkeeper who, as a result of distance traveled, shall violently check an opponent in any manner."
No wonder players and fans alike are uncertain about dirty and clean hits. With such a vague description of an infraction, how is a player to even know if he's charging or not? Does he calculate the distance he will travel, factoring in his speed, while he tries to play the game?
Clean hit with dirty results...
